After recently writing TC general and motor exams it is quite apparent the TC question bank has not kept up with technology. A good approach would be for TC to use exams from the UK. They seem to be much more practical and relevant. I understand there are still a lot of old vessels in Canada's domes...

Thanks for the info. I'll dig up a FM OP manual. Maybe a manual from the days of 4 stroke direct reversing engines would have it. Once again I find myself looking for information on equipment that for all practicality, no longer exists. If the jacket water pump is also engine driven I suppose there ...

With a 4th class ticket you will be a 3rd engineer. As a junior officer your work rotation will be 3 months on and 2 months off. Thier ships are all very modern, the oldest ones are around 15 years.
