Re: New engine

Andrew, Is that your hand attempting to balance that wrist watch engine crank? All this design stuff is all very well but what about this TS3 well known engine failure problem? It needs sorting before going further into these futuristic designs of yours. Swop your drumsticks for a torque wrench spri...

Re: New engine

Those cranks are an advert for Locktite ? Stripped engines whereby the engine has run on rumbling away with a broken crank with ends like a dog clutch effect holding the show together. Back to the TS3 engine, the common failure fault part I refer to is splined either end? Look in the workshop manual...

Re: New engine

Most interesting Andrew but you won't find the answer to my question in the workshop manual, you will only find it by experiences caused by working on this type of engine. It was, as I said a very common occurrence caused solely by not decoking the engine. The excessive backpressure, as shown by the...

Re: New engine

That rocker gear looks dry as a wooden god ALEX/ROLLER. But you yet have to crack this well known ( back then ) problem. Study the clues given. Two stroke. Bad maintance. Back pressure. My trusty bar magnet VL Churchill tools. There, virtually told you. And yes, still got the workshop manual for thi...

Re: New engine

Andrew, I well remember the TS3 engine as I worked on a lot of them in the sixties. There was a common fault which occurred regularly if the correct preventative maintenance was not carried out which would cause a severe loss of power to occur and was caused by the fact this engine was a two stroke....

Re: Telephone Cord Stops Main Engine

My take on this draws comparisons to way back on my entry to the trade, new stiff overhauls on, new shiny six inch rule in the top pocket, leaning over the side to look at something alongside and out slides the rule straight into the briny and never to be seen again. Did this twice before learning m...

Re: 2018 April - TC's Jolly Jack retirement, Halifax

Oh dear, it's how I feared, looks like our Edwin is hull down already.
Personally this hull Down syndrome causes me some concern so I guess I'll just keep on pedaling.

Re: New engine

Andrew, I have to say how relieved I am that the U.K. had a " hand " in your futureristic designs and that via Scotland albeit you were only six or so at the time the seed was planted via your pinkies back then to enable you to draw up these incredible designs which I am sure I am correct ...

Re: 2018 April - TC's Jolly Jack retirement, Halifax

But what to be called now? Back to Edwin or continue with JJ? Another change retirement can bring. I don't want to get this wrong and have that Administrator who wears those sinister sunglasses after me, they re obviously not scared of HP water together with coarse grinding paste treatment . Apon re...

Re: New engine

Andrew, Thank you for your kind invite and lunch at the local Mcdonalds followed by a city tour. The engine I had for 18 years is now gone, ( 1982-2001 ) it was not however a plane but a rotary jobby. You know the old saying designed to wind up the fixed wing boys, "To fly is heavenly but to ho...
