Came in smoking excessively ...found one injector defective.... filters changed. Turbo intake was found to have rubber shavings after a flexible elbow installed. Took turbo apart found lots of burnt rubber around shaft ....cleaned off . Bearing clean and no wear showing Upon flash up , still excessi...

Not sure if the engine overheated when the first turbo overheated .... It certainly would be worth knowing... I just started with this outfit , so I wil;l have to ask the gent who was on shift at the time .

Thanks for the replies guys....The turbo went before , due to a wasted gasket. A replacement turbo was installed for convenience reasons ....same part number suppled by Perkins... It ran smooth for approx 2 days , then upon return to site it was found in a dead state with no loss of fluids water or ...

.It is used as power on a genny.....left site , ran fine .....returned to a shutdown state ..... v/v cover off and discovered 6 of 8 pushrods bent ... turbo was replaced 2 days previous
