River levels were up, but I had heard that he was actually in a small craft channel.

Re: Coolant Ph
Thanks guys. We have had no way of testing coolant since about 2007; seems they didn't put too high of a priority on finding a way for us after Dearborn's little conductivity testers went away. This past trip out, we got test strips that also checked Ph, so I was curious. My Ph came in at about 8, a...

Coolant Ph
Does anybody have any idea of what Ph I should be looking for in an EMD 645 cooling system running Nalcool 2000 and no antifreeze?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Italy cruise ship Costa Concordia aground near Giglio
I'd say somebody is going to have some major "splainin" to do here. Good Lord, what were they even doing that close inshore?? There was also a report on the BBC that the captain, who has been detained, was one of the first ones off. In the BBC photo of the damage, you could see into the sh...

Re: alfa laval centrifuge mba 104
When you start feeding oil at first after cleaning, you will see some water in the water sight glass for a short while as the feed oil displaces some of the seal water, but that should not last too long. As for lube oil, you might be better off with a good quality HP gear oil. This is a worm driving...

Re: Left Handed Monkey Wench
Hmm, going to have to look around for ebook copies of Glencannon. Curtis Publishing put a book out some years ago, but it was mostly about his drinking! My wife sent me back to work with her Kindle on a trial run, and I am going to get one for myself at work; if I can find Glencannon stories in Mobi...

Oh yes! I have a copy of this in a book called "The Sons of Martha". It is a collection of McKenna's short stories and three sections of the book he had in the works when he died of a heart attack in 1964. We were robbed of another great book by his death; the stand alone sections of "...

Carrol Smith was the team engineer for the winning American effort at LeMans in the mid sixties and he wrote a series of books on race car preparation and tuning. One of these is "Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook". It covers race car methods (basically AN standard aircraft hard...
Re: TWIC
Bad pass indeed. I was at the St. Louis airport the other day (on my way to set up a computer on a company boat), and our barge maint. VP took paind to let me know not to use the TWIC for ID with the TSA. Seems somebody else had, and got to spend a good long while explaining it to the TSA. Wh...

It turns out that we will be using Sinex Solutions; they're headquartered in Duluth, MN. I don't have the details on cost; I was only told that it is not cheap. It's an internet based system; anyone in the company that needs access to the information can get to it with a password and any computer wi...
