WE HAD SOME PITTING ON ONE WHEN I FIRST GOT TO THE VESSEL. EARLIER CREW SAID IT HAD BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE. CAUSE WE BELIEVE WAS A SEA WATER LEAK TO A FUEL TANK THAT WENT UNNOTICED.

I AM LOOKING FOR A MANUAL OR INFORMATION ON A BOSS BRAND (BILGE OIL SEPARATING SYSTEM) MODEL 10T/107 OILY WATER SEPARATOR. HAVING TROUBLE FINDING INFO ONLINE. ANY HELP?

right on, i appreciate the reply. i thought about refineries and plants of that nature, but i wasnt sure if the required a degree or come kind of certification in that field. but i guess a generator is a generator. ill be looking in to it, thanx.

im not sure how big a crowed you would draw from it. i think the site you have is just great. ive never freally participated or came across this kind of site, so its good to be able to exchange with people of the same industry.

ive noticed that a bunch of sailors on here are not from us. so i guess that answers that.

dont bag on the cat to much fellas. mostly all my experience is with cat. the have never givin me any trouble. follow manufacs. maintenance intervals and you are good to go.

ive seen some engines put in some wierd spots. i worked on an older twin engine that had the the stbd. engine mounted 10 ft. aft of the port.

i think the manufactureres set thier maintenance intervals for a good reason. if you lengthen that time frame it might be a good reason there in dry dock.
