Re: Senior Chief Engineer Bella Coola - BC Ferries
Thanks for the reply. I've seen a couple of postings saying "must travel with vessel"; what does this mean?

What are the rotations at BC Ferries? Do they have any live-aboard vessels? Thanks for any info.

Re: Engineers for CCG
What rotations do they have? What are the conditions onboard? Do the engineers share cabins?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Taxes
Thanks for all the replies. I'm looking at the non-resident option so if anyone has more info it would be appreciated.
Re: Taxes
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Re: Taxes
Thanks for the replies. I only have a Canadian passport so can't really go to the UK or anywhere else. I am exploring the non-resident route so if anyone has any experiences to share it would be appreciated. Would someone living abroad need to come back to Canada every two years for a TC medical? Or...
Taxes
What's the best way for a Canadian, working contracts on foreign ships/foreign owners, to deal with taxes? Moving out of the country is not an option for me so need to find a way to put more money in my pocket. Also, I would appreciate if anyone could recommend a tax accountant in the GTA who is exp...

Thanks. Do the C/Es have pay grades that differ as per the size of the vessels?

Re: Chief Engineer, Intermediate, BC Ferries, Horseshoe Bay
What's a Chief Engineer Intermediate? Is there another C/E on-board that he/she reports to? Some of these terms are very confusing.

CoC as per STCW 2010 Manila Convention
I got my First Class CoC renewed last year and was issued a CoC as per STCW 1978 "as amended" (a laminated sheet with a stamp/seal); this is even though I completed the MED refreshers and MAFA. Is this CoC as per the STCW 2010 Manila Convention? Transport Canada is not able to give me a sa...

Re: NFLanders only - TC 3rd Class for Offshore
I quite agree with you; its a disgrace that as a Canadian I cannot even apply for jobs on the east coast. Is there anything we can do to change it?

Re: shore & ship Jobs for indian chief engineer in canada
Hi Gaurang, You need to have a work permit(?) or be a permanent resident/citizen of Canada to qualify to take the exams conducted by Transport Canada - Marine. You can't work in Canada without one or the other. Once you are in Canada (if you aren't already) go to the nearest TC marine office with yo...

Hi Marcus,
Do you have any openings for a Canadian Chief Unltd? I would be interested if you do.

Re: FPSO Experience
Puglisevich were looking for catering staff for an FPSO, don't know if they are hiring for other positions. Give them a shout too, Martin has their details on his 'work' page. Good luck.
