Re: Rudder Stock dropped
Dear Sir,
1.We are currently using the cylindrical roller bearing (23052 CC/W33) for the rudder carrier, any different with Pallister bearing ?
2.Would appreciate yr elaborate clarification about the framework below the Rudder ?
3.Our current jumping collar clearance is abt 10mm, is it okay ?

Rudder Stock dropped
Dear Sirs,
Would appreciate to advise what are the probable causes that could affect the Rudder Stock to drop down a few centimetres from its original position ?
The Rudder is of the semi-balance type.
The ship had been operating for about 3 years.
Hereby extend my thanks for yr kind response.

SEEMP Manual for Office & Vessel
Hi there, Since the SEEMP would be enforced on 01st Jan 2013, every vessel would need to have on board a copy of the SEEMP. Would appreciate if anyone out there have a practical sample of the SEEMP for our guidance to implement and establish a copy for the vessel to use. SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficienc...

Re: new picture
Dear Sir, If I may correct, you mean to say Stainless steel bolts & nuts for stainless steel components and not for mild steel components. What if we used stainless steel bolts & nuts for mild steel components and painted up, would that cause corrosion ? How about stainless steel bolts &...

Re: Main Engine High Exhaust Temperatures
Dear Sir,
For the Hull conditions, we could not determine.
I wonder if the propeller is entangled with fishing nets and ropes will cause the exhaust temperatures to rise substantially.

Re: Thermal oil boiler
Good day Sir, Glad to receive some valuable tips from you. Thks. 1. To quote, "expansion tank should not be lagged", my understanding is that hot tank should be lagged for safety purposes , why is that so ? Unquote. 2. It looks like there won't be any safety valves on the boiler compared t...

Re: Advance timing for fuel pump
Dear Sir, For a medium speed diesel engine like ours, we cannot take the Power/Draw Card to check the injection timing. We are using dial indicator gauge to only measure peak pressure. Just to clarify, 1. If the barrel & plunger is leaking, can we determine from the leak-off pipe attached at the...
