This is foolish. And yet again demonstrates the NS Governments complete ineptitude concerning Marine issues. Think of the Bluenose II. Here we have a Ferry service, completely funded by the NS Government, using a US owned/flagged vessel... hence NO Canadian Seafarer jobs. Job posting concerning this...

There is a definite crew shortage. But, those companies who have the foresight to pay a going industry level rate; and practice some ideas of implementing crew retention ideas.. manage to attract and keep good people. Other outfits, such as the one I work for.. do the opposite to the above; and wond...

Gid-day: Having worked outside the country, and obtained the tax credit.. I can shed some "users" light on the topic. If you work in the oil and gas exploration sector, internationally, and your employer is recognzied by the Canadian Gov`t as such (ie, C-Mar, Maersk-Seabase).. you qualify ...

Hello:
There is amovement by the SIU to represent Engineers on the Lakes.. wonder if anyone out there has had experience, as an engineer, with the SIU as their union ? Would like to hear views and comments on this..

Somewhere between 100 to 120 thousand is the norm. More in the offshore.
