All change! CoCs issued under the SSB are valid until HQ in Ottawa says they are not.

$8000 bucks? That's a year's tuition in a University Bachelor's degree! Why would anyone waste that much money when ERRs are not required anyway?

It means, as far as I can make out, that all tickets issued under the SSB and all applied for, have been suspended.

Hey! I only work here! It seems that CoCs issued under this Ship Safety Bulletin are not valid. STCW 2010, Manilla, does not have examinations, instead, recognised educational institutions confirm competencies........so if you have $500 and an airline ticket to the far east.....

Effective today, Ship Safety Bulletin 05/2017, which covers STCW Certification, has been withdrawn and is no longer in effect. Back to MPRs, to get a Chief Engineer Certificate, you'll have to get a First Class.

Have yu gone through the approval process with TC? The reason I ask is that if you have not, your training will not be recognized. There have been instances in the past where a non-approved "school" has provided training which has not been recognized by Examiners because the school is not ...

Anyone enrolled in a Bachelor's Engineering Degree would be bloody stupid to give it up for a cadet programme. The Canadian CoC will be worthless in a few years.
