Re: Regulations for OWS

Hi JK, thanks for your reply. I'm aware of the special areas in MARPOL not sure about fishing zones in Canada though. I'm not the one operating it (and would not, unless i was sure it was legal to do so) but we are having a discussion on board. So if we in Canadian waters its under way but if we lea...

Re: Injection pump sticking problem in Wartsila 32 engines

I have had a similar problem on wasa 32. The fuel oil temp was to high @ 150 C. We lowered it to 125 C and the worked much better.

Re: Help! Just can't get pass the 2nd Class motor Orals

I don't see how you would have time to check all this things when you sign on. I always demand a handover/overlap time on a new ship so i can make my opinion if to stay or not. I believe any serious company should give a weeks handover at least. And stopping cargo operation for testing the engine, w...

Re: Offshore Jobs Canada

I got the same impression from the offshore sector. I have done some vacancy contract in the north sea 5-6 years ago, and they seem to think they are the best sailors in the world. But after talking to them it turns out they never left the north sea. For me any ship that doesn't run on HFO is easy w...

Re: Offshore Jobs Canada

Thanks for the suddgestions, i dont have tanker endorsment. I'm not intrested in the fishing sector. The offshore oil and gas is more intresting. I have a job now (deep sea container ship) so its not an urgent matter, i just wanted to switch sector and get some more information if possible.
