Re: Estimating for dummies

Still working on it, nothing new to report since my post from aug 30th. However we got a fire lit in Germany and got some senior MAN engineers flying to meet with us in 2 weeks, hopefully this will yield some progress. I still stand by my original findings that this is design issues but time will te...

Estimating for dummies

Switching gears from my usual rant on CR system issues, I would like to toss this out there for your comment. Have you ever noticed that some guys in the industry have a real talent for remembering numbers , figures , when it come to estimating costs. I am not one of those guys , I am back to the ol...

Re: Common Rail Engine 48/60 cr

Thanks BP and Atlantic for your responses. Basically the filter system is as MAN spec. its 10 mic before the fuel module and 25 mic before engine inlet. MAN have recommend an additional 10 mic after the fuel module however through our own research we discovered that a vessel trading overseas with th...

Re: Scrubber-Irving Tanker

Thanks, I am of the same opinion as you with what I know today. From a ROI perspective considering the current spread between diesel and HFO is not so much it is difficult to justify kicking of a scrubber retrofit. Seems to be a little bit of chicken and the egg going on here... Fuel supplier want t...

Re: Scrubber-Irving Tanker

Is this Alfa Laval system currently in use? Through my research into scrubber systems while trying to launch a retrofit project I heard a rumor that the Irving Tankers had all kinds of issues with the scrubber plants and decide to switch to diesel. Just wondering if fact or fiction
Thanks

Good Day , I am a long time guest of this site and would like to thank Martin for this excellent resource for both professional and leisure activities he is facilitating. Finally I decided to register and post as I am seeking some discussion on the MAN 48/60 CR engine. I am currently experiencing a ...
