Apologies to those who have already read this back in 2015 but hopefully some members will have not read this...

Re: Federal Vaccine Mandate/

DIeseldude; I have read your latest in depth medical statements and whilst not in the habit of burying my head in the sand I still cannot see this tangential speech’s having any direct resemblance to a Marine Engineering site which this predominately is. Had I wanted to be lectured on medical proble...

Re: Federal Vaccine Mandate

Well, I have to say that I have eventually managed to swallow all of the foregoing but as an outsider ( UK based ) I have had difficulty in taking it all on board but am failing to understand any obvious connections with Marine Engineering as specifically referenced to machinery and/or auxiliaries/C...

Re: Engine cannot start

Broken crank. 85% of the breaks were always directly across the rear main. The S shaped break allowed it to run on and even maintain the oil pressure. Bit like a dog clutch jobby. Over enthusiastic young hands doling out the Bradex appeared to be the main cause. Frank Perkins were the main contender...

Re: New engine

About this 3 cylinder engine ANDREW, See the top two cylinders have a scraper ring fitted but have only one oil control ring and only one compression ring fitted? How is this? Two stroke I take it? Why two crank journals on the top picture? Why not two conrods on the same journal? Moving onto the bi...

Re: Engine cannot start

And to what extent was the S cam type fracture of this mysterious as yet unknown component a distinct advantage as to versus a 90 degree fracture?
This and this only permited the engine to run on?

Re: Engine cannot start

That clapped out old engine with virtually no rings left on it displaying excess crankcase compression is flying over like its got bent valves so whats the next move to start this fum...

Re: New engine

Blimey Andrew. Understand most of it but the million dollar question remains. Was it right or left hand rotation? I need to know to progress my knowledge in this advanced world of design features . Plus I am still on edge here concerning the late night liason with another atop the hill? And it was d...
