Re: GEA westfalia ose 20 trouble wms

Hello Lempoyan, thanks for sharing.
Which solenoid/component was wired wrong?
When was it wired wrong?
How did you discover it?

Re: Diesel generator - Pcomp high

I don't think you can use the stylus and drum as the engine is running too fast and I don't think there is anywhere to connect it to. On the face of it, it seems to be an issue with the measuring equipment. How old is the vessel? How many total hours on the engine? Have you taken a set of readings o...

Re: Diesel generator - Pcomp high

Hello ThasleemH. For a moment there I thought we were going to be rich, you are producing 806kW without adding any heat, unfortunately, I then saw your SFOC which seems high at over 220 g/kWh. Your figures don't seem possible, I would expect at least 20b over Pcomp at this load (65%). Have you notic...

Re: westfalia Purifier Problem

Hello Michael. Have you tried all of the following? From the manual. **********Text displaying #44 for PAL 1 (pressure low) Clean oil discharge valve (product discharge valve) V7 open too wide - Check valve position. Feed capacity reduced - Check feed capacity. Try increasing the throughput. Set poi...

Re: Alfa Laval S846 HFO Separator problem

Hello Arnav. The alarm is telling you that the bowl is not filled or there is no pressure feedback. I don't believe that changing the settings is the answer unless they have been changed previously. How did you start the sequence without calibration, did you put Ti59 to 0 seconds? I would start by p...

Re: westfalia Purifier Problem

Is the speed OK, belt and clutch? Still sounds like a water problem but you have improved the flow for the operating water maybe there is still not enough for filling(?). Is it possible a hose is damaged internally and restricting the flow? I'm not sure what you mean by a de-sludge should happen if ...

Re: westfalia Purifier Problem

Have you tried all the possible causes for Alarm #40 - No Water Seal (I can't attach the picture for some reason)? 1. Clean oil discharge pressure too high. V7 valve working, is the manual valve gagged, pressure gauge good, PT1 ok and same as gauge? 2. Filling water V2 ok. Filling may be the issue. ...

Re: westfalia Purifier Problem

Hello Shandy.226. The 0196 with UNITROL does not have a gravity disc as the upper centripetal pump acts like one. The liquid, whether water or oil is pumped into the sensor chamber where the pressure switch and the conductivity sensor are located. If it's oil it goes through the recirc. valve back i...

Re: Caterpillar C8.7 temperature query

Hi Nick. I have never been that fast over water. Can you describe the raw cooling system? Does the port inner share a cooling system (raw water) with the port outer (The PI is at 91 degrees)? How is the JCW cooled, a heat exchanger? Was the thermostat changed because of this issue and is it the corr...

Re: Alfa Laval S846 HFO Separator problem

Hello Fred So it does work from starting and will run all day, discharging every two hours but will the randomly fail to come back on separation after a discharge, is that correct? After it has failed will it come back on or do you have to stop it (complete shutdown) and restart it? The same thing h...

Re: Alfa Laval S846 HFO Separator problem

Thanks for the reply, Fred and well done. I admit that I cannot understand why changing the valves on the water block would solve the problem but I will take it. If there are any more problems, a quick fix according to the manual for 'Pressure in water outlet PT5 - LOW' is 'Force the paring tube inw...

Re: Alfalaval HFO separator S825

Hello jejerooooome, that's good news. Just be aware of pushing too much through it and not getting optimum cleaning, try for 110% of engine consumption. Might be worth sending off a before and after sample next time you send your bunker samples. Thanks for letting us know. John

Re: Alfa Laval S846 HFO Separator problem

I'm not convinced about high bp in the sludge tank and now the problem is on another which is a separate sludge tank. Everything else has been checked: speed, the parameter settings etc? Is there a lot of water in the gas oil? Can you try disabling V5 and its alarms (the water, if any, would still b...

Re: Alfa Laval S846 HFO Separator problem

Hello FedeZardo. I am presuming this is set up as ALCAP and the water sensor (MT50 or 60) is working and controlling the water discharge valve V5. During the few hours when everything is working without problems what is the pressure on PT5? Is it the same pressure as PT4? During a stable separation ...
