I just got done with a course where they were drilling General and Particular average into my head with explosives and it shows how well things stick sometimes.

I've only ever seen weak link sealed valves and a completely unsealed bilge ejection valve. This is for ships that very regularly trade in the US.

Australian ships are allowed to have foreign crew are they not?
I remember a small protest a few years ago and some stirrances about it.

Seems like either that's the future for Canada, or simply they keep importing the foreign here - either way the labour is oversupplied and wages go down.

One old Polish Fitter than I sailed with many years ago was on a Polish Baltic Ferry that had a major oil leak on its main engine, lost the whole oil charge, so they filled the sump with liquid detergent from a road tanker they were carrying as cargo and used that in the main engine until they got ...
