Re: Empress of Ireland

Its pretty sad that I know so little about the Empress of Ireland. Incidentally, the BC Maritime Museum in Victoria is holding a special exhibit to mark the sad occasion.

Re: Korean Ferry Sinks

Kids stay in their sinking ship's cabins, disband the coast guard, death penalty for crew, the crew unable to find lawyers to defend them; sounds like Korea is a pretty extreme place.

Re: Padeye design spreadsheet(www.thenavalarch.com)

Just had a look at the video, looks well thought out and easy to use. Not sure how I would use it on a daily basis but would certainly be beneficial to double check others work, if anything.

Congrats, and thanks for sharing.

Re: Seafarer’s Identity Document

Discharge book's front page I talked above previously satisfy this requirement. @JollyJack yes I was pretty sure I was not correct, but I was just going on from my practical e...

Re: Seafarer’s Identity Document

What they most likely require is a Discharge Book. Back in the "old days" this use to be the go to document for seafarers all around the world. However now with "security nazis" in power this document is no longer considered a "valid document" especially not for traveli...
