Re: Supplier for Water Tight Doors (blast from the past)

Do seafarers have no souls and "No Crew Change" Clauses

I did my foreign going sailing prior to 911, when you could get ashore for a beer or a walk, even though we usually docked in the wilds at the tanker or ore docks. After 911, things changed, crew couldn't get ashore. Now we have Covid and not only can they not get ashore, some have been onboard for ...

Re: Seafarers Union Worth it?

the CG keeps extended the dates on a lot of their job postings as it is easier to do that then go through all of the HR again. Government hiring policy is a bear. It's tough to get on steady there. I don't know what it is like now, but to be hired indeterminate full time is like a visitation from on...

Re: Happy Holidays 2020

It's pretty hard to believe it's been 15 years since DieselDuck said, email me, on his old forum. (I can't even describe the old forum, it was basically a scrolling line of text with pictures interspersed, but it was pretty busy. I was introduced to it by a coworker when I was musing about writing m...

This gentleman was featured by the CBC on the 100 year anniversary of the Halifax Explosion. He was an extraordinary individual going by his biography on the site, "For Posterity's Sake" and I thought I would post some of the links for anyone with a few spare moments to look at his life ac...
