I am trying to get job as engineer with first class (motor) certificate from Transport Canada & applied in many places such BC ferries but at the moment
they are frezzing new recuritment for bugetary issuse.Any body have idea when they will re-open the first engineer position for recuritment.
I am trying in East-coast shipping company for a position also.
Any body can help me to find out some prospective vacancy for shipping company.

Seems to be truth. I was very interested to be employed by BC Ferries too and actually I was preparing myself since long time ago, but since last year till now there is nothing for mariners.I am worry if we can do some survival job here, and after when the marine job market become good we will facing some new issues like being away from the field for long time and a gap in our resume.
