On Thursday January 16 at 7PM in the Lower Lounge of the Naden Officers’ Wardroom in Esquimalt, Mr. Keith Tamburri from the Canadian Scientific Submersible Facility will present recent exploits of the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) ROPOS. As a versatile platform, ROPOS is used for a range of purposes including deploying cable for subsea networks to exploring hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. Mr. Tamburri will also present the various launch and recovery and other modular support hardware used to deploy ROPOS on a variety of sizes of ships.
Guests are always welcome at branch meetings. Members often arrive early for a beverage in the upper lounge.
February Branch Meeting
The February Branch meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday February 20 at 7PM in the Lower Lounge of the Naden Officers’ Wardroom in Esquimalt. Mr. Costa Anagnostou from Bosch-Rexroth will give a present entitled "Drive and control for coastal and marine applications" which provide information on drive and control systems implemented in a range of marine applications.
Bosch-Rexroth works on a wide scale of projects and integrates marine hardware such as pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems for coastal and marine mechanical systems.
