UP-ISLAND BRANCH MEETING – The annual Up-Island dinner meeting will take place Friday evening May 16 at the Lantzville Legion.

A paper will be presented by Dr. Sonia Batten called "Ships of Opportunity and the Biology of the North Pacific Ocean -an update" regarding The Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey of the North Pacific done by transoceanic commercial ships towing sampling recorders.

Please advise if you are attending, willing to drive or wanting a ride.

From Victoria? A car-pool can be organized leaving about 3:30PM from the parking lot behind the Saanich Municipal Hall.

Drivers would appreciate each passenger contribute $10 for gas.

Event starts at 1700 with meet, greet and drinks [one complimentary drink ticket will be provided by the branch.

Dinner will be a roast beef and chicken buffet starting at 1800.

Cost per person will be $25.
