2017 May - Tugnology, Rotterdam

Post by The Dieselduck »

Following the highly successful Tugnology ’15 Conference in London, we would like to remind you that Tugnology ’17 is taking place at the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam on 23 and 24 May. The programme promises to be varied and stimulating, with papers covering all aspects of tug design, technology and equipment. As always, the papers chosen for Tugnology ’17 reflect the latest technological developments within the industry, and their practical applications. Subjects on the agenda for 2017 range from improving tug stability and new propulsion solutions, through to staying green while keeping lean, the latest dual fuel engine technology, and increasing safety while reducing lifecycle costs. The papers to be presented will draw on the expertise, research and knowledge of some of the industry’s leading lights and speakers and the event includes some of the best-known names in tug design, building and operation.

There are discounts available for 'Early Bird' registrations, two or more delegates from the same company and for ITS Club members. To take advantage of the Early Bird discount, you must register and pay before 31 January 2017. Visit the link below to register online:

If you are not already an ITS Club member and would like details on how to make further savings on your delegate registration, please email the membership secretary, Jane Wilson, [email protected] who will be happy to send you details.

We are using an agency based in Rotterdam called HMC Reservations, who have negotiated special rates at six local hotels for Tugnology '17. All six hotels are within a few minutes walk of the World Trade Centre. To benefit from these discounted rates, you will need to book via the dedicated link. Visit the Venue & Accommodation link in the Tugnology ’17 section on the website tugandosv.com, where you will find details on how to book rooms at the preferential rates. Please note there are only a limited number of rooms, so early booking is advised.

Looking further ahead, if you are interested in presenting a paper at ITS 2018 Marseille (25 – 29 June 2018), we need a title and 50-100 word synopsis before the end of June this year. Use the following link to make your submission, http://www.tugandosv.com/its2018-paper-submission. Further reminders will be posted in the coming issues of International Tug and OSV magazine.

Finally, regular updates on Tugnology ’17 and ITS 2018 can be found on our website and in International Tug & OSV, so look out for the January/February issue of the magazine which is due out in early February. Special sections of particular interest in our January/February issue are: LNG Operations and Innovations, Deck Machinery, Australian Focus and Fire-fighting & Pollution Control.

If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards
