The February meeting of the branch will convene at Ogden Point, at the gate entrance to the pier where the CABLE INNOVATOR is moored. The CABLE INNOVATOR is a 1995-built special-purpose cable laying/repair vessel stationed in Victoria. We are privileged through the courtesy of Capt. Mark Nash to have a tour of the vessel for our meeting this month.

She was built in Finland in 1995. L = 145 m B = 24 m. She has 13 MW of installed power, with a 5.3 MW fixed-pitch propeller, 2 stern thrusters of 900 KW/12 t capacity (no rudder) 2 bow thruster; one 2000 KW and one 1200 KW. She has accommodations for 80 personnel, can stay at sea for 42 days without RAS.

It should be a most interesting meeting! Wear good walking shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Please drift a quick "I intend to be at February's Meeting" email to me at "eastwindmarine" " @gmail.com " no later than 10 February so that we can advise the ship of the size of our group.
