My first aid has expired. I've heard the rules have changed. I have a 4th class, can I legally sail without a 1st aid cert?
Will basic marine 1st aid do? What about foreign going ships?

Hello Jon, I see no one else has answered your question. There is a pretty good discussion on this board regarding first aid and medical. Albeit being second hand information, your ticket would be valid even if your FA is expired.
