For those of you in the area of Vancouver Island you might be pleased to hear that the up and coming Western Maritime Institute, located just south of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, has received a generous gift of engineering books from the Vancouver Island Branch of the Institute of Marine Engineering. VIB Chairman Phil Dauphinee of Victoria made the presentation to the institute in honor of its grand opening on Sept 11, 2008.

The books will be available for all to use, the details of accessibility are still being worked out, as the institute library get officially set up.
