I'm replacing my 8V92 generators on board the tug with this other detroit. a slightly tricked out engine. I might need a bigger boat though.

Obviously he hasn't seen a big engine before. That toy would probably fit in one of the cylinders of a Sulzer or a B&W. 12V71 is one of the smaller Detroits. Once you get past the 145 size, (and I've worked on a 16V145 Detroit in a truck) and up to 454, then you're talking a half decent small medium speed engine.

The idiot with the beard is dangerous to have around, I cringed at the unguarded belts, the hunting governor, the low speed running (on a Jimmy!) and the unsecured emergency stop butterflies.
Discourage incest, ban country "music".

Heh, the dyno room one reminds me of the 16-710's I used to live with on my old boat on the Lower Mississippi...
