MaK Costs.

Post by JK »

Last year in March we had a intercooler for a 453 quoted by MAK Germany through the local dealer.

Cost then was $24,000.00 + Shipping. 3 on hand

We are now purchasing one, at the cool, cool cost of $34,476.00+ shipping. 3 still on hand.

I am sure they have replaced the original 3 during the year with new ones and that they aren't making a profit of 10k plus. Right?

I hate to speak up for the engine makers prices, but don’t forget the $ to € rate has gone to hell, if you are effectively buying Euros.

Please let me know if you have problems with a Mak 453 AK or C machine again... There is a lot of possibilities, and the Euro currency will not inflict on the final pricing compared to the product... Only important issue to have verified is if the engine is EIAPP certified or not :-) I presume that the engine do not carry EIAPP certification, which open doors to a lot of alternative class approved solutions :-)
