I need a bit of help to study. I have been studying, but get blocked by things I have a hard time understanding. My physics teacher from high school is going to help me out with my learning block. I definitely need to get a bigger ticket. There is no doubt about that. Hard to go back to school when you have a family to support.

What's your normal schedule while at work? I know it can be hard to study book-stuff after work, but just a question a night should have you learn that subject in a single rotation.
Do you have the books you need?
What tests will you have to do for your next ticket?

I work roughly 20/7. Yes I have all the books I need. I'm going for my third class, still have them all to do. I went and did my math exam, and did horribly on it. I thought I had done enough studying for it, but obviously not. The math was mostly algebra, and I studied it, but didn't study enough. I focussed more on geometry and trigonometry, which there was only one question on that. One other question was on area of a tank. I didn't think they would ask a question an a tank that had so many different sides. I remember seeing the formula in my head, but when I was studying, I thought, naw they won't ask that. So I have to take the math exam again in 5 months because I did so horribly bad. I think too much and usually don't answer the question correctly.

Oh too bad, sorry man that's harsh.
Make sure to make use of the training room, post up any questions - everyone I have seen post on here helps out great and all the math stuff I'm pretty comfortable with too, so if I could help try to answer some questions I'd give it a shot.

So try to simplify algebra, it's largely a practice of organization. If you go step-by-step, keep neat and order, ideally you can really see how the answer unfolds and shows itself.

Sailing as Chief yet?
Think of the bonuses.
More loot, no more dirty fingernails.
More time off.
Top dog uniform.
No more black looks.
No more coughing.
See forever with a better pair of peepers.

No more dirty fingernails doesn't sound like a bonus, sounds like a negative...then again, probably when I'm old and have my c/e ticket I'll think a bit different, full of gusto still. heh

When you look out the crankpit door while doing a bottom end and realize that after 5 years you are still looking at the same faces looking in, you will have incentive to get the 1st.

But what would you do when being lectured with a load of bunk if you couldnt whip out your small screwdriver to clean your nails to help pass the time?
( that flat bladed one, not a Phillips )
As Chief you would have to come up with another pastime when your ear holes are being assaulted.
Maybe a disadvantage of having a Chiefs ticket perhaps?
JK, do you mean with the doors on or off?

What developed then?
Full set gaskets / seals etc or diving bottle and full face mask?
Maybe a hairdrier to blow the smoke away?

Just continuing black looks every trip then plus leaky peepers, can't be getting any better, should have backed off a few bolts methinks.
