Nothing on this subject of late so here is one from the past.
Re white metalling a bearing during an emergency repair with the job up in a lathe three jaw chuck in boring out the ID on its last cut you encounter a blow hole.
Not a lot of white metal left in the stores to start over so what are you going to do?
How are you going to get out of this one?
No shoreside help here?
Remembering The Good Old days, when Chiefs stood watches and all Torque settings were F.T.

JK has the answer to this.
I remember back a long JK writting about scraping in white metal bearings on a steamwinch?
Dig deep in that old toolbox.
Clue?
Its half round?
