Kenneth Leslie Burrows
You may have met this gentleman who worked for KaMeWa and RollsRoyce
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken at the age of 72, on June 25th, 2011 at Lions Gate Hospital.

James and Maggie would like to thank the nurses and doctors who looked after Ken during his lengthy stay in the Acute Care Ward on the 4th floor. Ken was born on 28th February, 1939 in Bromley, Kent, England, the second child of Leslie and Frances Burrows. On leaving school, Ken served an apprenticeship, started work, and went to evening classes. However his routine was interrupted by the call of duty; a two year stint in the British Army as required under the National Services Act. He served in the Royal Engineers in Cyprus and North Africa between 1960 and 1962. Afterwards he resumed his engineering career, although he took a brief leave of absence to pursue his love of cycling and traversed through parts of Europe on his bike for months at a time. In 1975 he moved to Canada to take up a position in Vancouver as a Marine Propulsion Engineer. Soon after he decided to make Vancouver his home. He lived the rest of his life on the North Shore working in the shipyards of North Vancouver and Victoria, maintaining the ferry fleet and various cruise ships. His work would also take him across Canada and the world, from Hawaii to Europe to Australia and everywhere in between. Ken had many friends and colleagues in the Marine Industry in Canada, the USA, Sweden, and the UK. He leaves behind and will be sadly missed by his son James, his sister Barbara, niece Karen, and nephews Kevin and Martin and their families, as well as his cousin Ray in Nova Scotia and his many other relatives in England. A service will be held for Ken at First Memorial Funeral Services on Lillooet Rd in North Vancouver on Thursday, July 7th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to a charity of your choosing.
