longtime CIMarE member Art Christensen from the Gret Lakes Branch died recently at age 66. Art serviced on National Council for many years and most recently was on the organizing committee for Mari-Tech 2014 which was held in Niagara Falls. The full obituary follows below:

CHRISTENSON- Arthur Norman of Port Colborne passed away after a brief illness at the Port Colborne General Hospital on Monday November 24, 2014 at the age of 66 years. Dearly beloved husband of Ginnie Christenson, loving father of Nancy Christenson (Ron Fancy) and Elaine Christenson, very special grandpa to Rachel Fancy. Brother of Ruth de Wijs (Kees), Alice Tyler (Frank), Charlie Christenson and Karen Bell (Bob), brother-in-law of Connie Ferguson and Jo-Anne Byers. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his parents Norman and Elizabeth Christenson and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Cecil and Marjorie McMartin. He worked for Algoma Central Corporation for 42 years from where he retired. Art served as President of the Marine Club and was the National Council Representative for the Great Lakes Branch of the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineers. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Central United Church, 30 Delhi St., Port Colborne at 1:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Mission to Seafarers or the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum.
