I really tried to find this answer myself in the Transport Canada website, CSA, Marine Safety publications but I can't find it. Does anybody know when a liferaft on board has been changed by a new type it is has to be actively tested according Transport Canada regulations? Does the crew need to be familiarised actively by inflating one?
Help on the matter would be nice. Maybe with the current TP number.
Best regards,
Marcel

Re: New type of liferaft
You are buying certificated SOLAS equipment, you do not have to get it tested again. It would have to be tested when the certificate runs out.
We have never had to inflate a new raft for TC.
You are better off looking at SOLAS then the TC site.

Re: New type of liferaft
Thanks JK that was kinda what I was thinking already. I was just wondering because I was let to believe that TC wanted us to inflate a liferaft because it was of m a new type.
