Slip,Sliding in the Snow?

Post by JK »

BC Ferries has cancelled two sailings on the Queen of Coquitlam today after the ferry had a hard landing at the Departure Bay terminal just before 2 p.m.

Spokeswoman Deborah Marshall said the ferry clipped the side of the berth at the Nanaimo terminal, causing damage to both the ferry and the dock. BC Ferries is still assessing the damage and whether the ferry will be put back into service this evening. The 3 p.m. ferry from Nanaimo and the 5 p.m. ferry running between Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay were both cancelled.

The Queen of Oak Bay is still running between Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay, but Marshall advises customers heading to and from Vancouver Island to travel between Duke Point and Tsawwassen as traffic is often heavy on Friday nights.
