Trapped below decks in large compartments that became 8 feet wide and 75 (?) deep as the ship settled on her side.
Fighting to get through the masses of floating debris to get to the surface.
Totally preventable.

The inquest for this accident found that the corridors became vertical shafts with no way for passengers to get out. Safety changes were suggested and ignored.
