No idea...probably is. Maybe the fuel efficiency software locked the telegraphs in full ahead. Or a nut fell off the governor. Or maybe water in pneumatic controls keeping the controls ahead. Or the main engine has engine driven pumps and kept running showing exhaust at the stack while everything else was dead. Or maybe it was a boiler. Inquiring minds are curious!

How's about one engines turbo bearings kaput,it's running on its own engine oil, shutting the fuel off will do nothing at all and it's revving well over its governed rpm?
Totally out of control situation.
Maybe something to put in the equation?
