Marine topic by manufacturer.
In 1946 Superior Engine & Compressor Company (marine engine manufacturers) produced an engine model # 65-LX-6.
One engine of this model was installed in a locomotive. That was the Ingalls Iron Works Model 4-S.
Firstly I would like to locate sound recordings of this motor, I believe it was quite different to the normal loco diesel of the time. Where is a library of engine sounds?
Is there any info available of this engine, (from an Superior archives site) and what changes were needed to suit loco running.
I would love to hear that sound though!!
Thankyou

Well this is different I have to say.
Remembering The Good Old days, when Chiefs stood watches and all Torque settings were F.T.
