Fire Teams on < 500 Tonne vessel

Post by alanocean »

Just wondering if anyone has any information on what would be deemed acceptable and safe in regards to fighting a fire onboard a Tug with emphasis on Donning BA packs and entering a smoke filled and or fire present space. We operate with 3 man crews up to 7 man crews and have 4 Full suits onboard but no instruction on when or when not to Donn and fight the fire as oppose to isolate and boundary cool. Seems that because we do not operate with a Safety convention we are not regulated and i am finding almost no information online.

Thanks for any insight into this

Alan
