To support the Hebron GBS project, Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors is seeking resumes from qualified individuals to join our GBS team based in St. John’s with transition to Bull Arm site.

Marine Operations Ballast Engineer - # 20304

Reporting to the Marine Operations GBS Ballasting Lead, the Marine Operations Ballast Engineer will provide support during the engineering and construction of the Hebron Gravity Based Structure (GBS).

Specific responsibilities include:

•Provide support to design engineering related to GBS temporary water ballast systems
•Develop relevant operational and commissioning procedures
•Assist with equipment selection and procurement
•Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
•Onboard operation and troubleshooting of water ballast systems during GBS floating phases
•Liaise with GBS engineering and GBS construction on a regular basis.

Requirements:

•Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Marine, Mechanical), Naval Architecture, Mariner, Ballast Control Operator – combination of education and experience will be considered
•Experience in planning and executing GBS marine operations or other related offshore marine installation work
•5+ years’ experience of relevant experience in design and engineering of water ballast systems
•Experience in planning and development of water ballast procedures and direct control, operation and troubleshooting of water ballast systems
•Knowledge and experience with free floating stability is considered an asset
•BCO certification is also considered an asset
