The Position:

We are currently recruiting for a Boiler Machinery Engineer for the (predominately) down town Toronto, Ontario territory.

Job Summary

Reporting to Engineering Supervisor, the Boiler Machinery Engineer will manage an assigned inspection territory (predominately down town Toronto), providing jurisdictional inspections (where applicable); loss prevention and claims adjusting. Responsible to Engineering Underwriting for technical support

Key Responsibilities

Inspect insured risks to assess exposures and equipment, production flow and safe operation of equipment, and jurisdictional inspections.
Handle loss adjustment investigations from date reported to final invoices.
Must be fully versed in the interpretation of all policy forms.
Write inspection reports and certificates of inspection.
Complete repair approvals, including required paperwork.
Provide survey reports for quotes on complex accounts prior to binding.
Provide marketing services to brokers and accompany brokers on site visits.

Skills and Experience Requirements

3-5 years experience in building or production facility maintenance
Post secondary technical education / apprentice
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self motivated and organizational skills are essential
Computer proficiency including MS word, excel, power point
Valid driver’s license

Experience, Skills and Education Preferred
Post secondary engineering degree / diploma
Marine engineer 2nd class / stationary engineer 2nd class
Background in non-destructive testing
Knowledge of ASME codes
National Board Commission
CIP, CRM

*This position requires extensive travel for inspections, claims, and broker training.

% of Travel Required : 70-80%
