DIRECTOR, VESSEL REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
Victoria

You are an experienced Program Director, you possess key expertise in the ship building and repair industry, and your goal is overseeing and managing the Vessel Replacement Program for BC Ferries.

You manage, mentor and promote teamwork amongst a heavily matrixed team of professionals, delivering a wide range of projects (Cable Ferry, Intermediate Class Ferry and potentially several other classes of ferries) into operations. You play a pivotal role in guiding the overall ship replacement strategy from conceptual design, through business case development, and into corporate and board approval. You develop and execute the procurement and contracting process. You oversee all aspects of the build program and project management teams, delivering vessels into operational duty back into the fleet through and extensive trials and acceptance programs.

You have an engineering related degree along with professional designation, or an acceptable combination of maritime industry-related qualification and experience. You are an experienced program manager in multi-faceted construction contracts, preferably within a shipbuilding or marine construction/operations environment. You posses great judgement and decision making skills, manage stress well through effective time management and are self-motivated. You are corporate savvy. Not only do you understand engineering and program management principles but are astute in business analysis, contracting and procurement strategies.

There is potential that significant work in overseas shipyards may arise; the successful candidate must be prepared to take on such assignments.

Email your resume, in one of the following formats; Plain text, MS Word, or PDF, quoting position title, by 1pm, July 12, 2013 to [email protected] or fax to (250) 978-1225.
