Re: (30)Senior Marine Safety Inspector
many of the inspectors are close to retirement and some have already retired. Victoria has a new TC inspector, but he is not new to TC. If you have a 1st or 2nd class, this is the time to apply and take up those position, if selected. Even a 3rd class can apply as TC inspectors. Closing date is today.

Re: (30)Senior Marine Safety Inspector
There is another 7 TI6 positions as well.
I wondered about the 30 positions too, after all TC is panting to get out of inspections. That is a lot of positions gone.
They dropped the requirements from a 1st to a 2nds. Obviously the CEs aren't willing to take that amount of a pay drop.

Re: (30)Senior Marine Safety Inspector
Treasury Board's pay assessment put TI 7, with 1st Class or Master Mariner, at least 25% behind industry standard. PSAC, the Union, accepted 1.5% pay rise, they (PSAC) are convinced that TI 1, NOT TI 8, is as high as you can go, which is why TI 6 terminal allowance is a lot higher than TI 7. The new contract has been ratified and the TA has been rolled into salary, making it pensionable earnings now.
Marine TIs are looking at the Guild and at the new version of CAW. Obviously, PSAC has no idea what a ship looks like, let alone what people actually do in them!
