Job Description:

Responsible for the overall management and technical operations of the fleet. This includes overseeing the daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, onboard general assessment of vessels, and inspections.

- Ensure the assigned vessels are technically operational or otherwise managed in accordance to company standards
- Liaise closely with the vessels’ master and chief engineers to ensure the vessels hulls, machinery and equipment are operated efficiently and maintained in good condition
- Assist in planning dry-docking and attend to vessel dry docking, repairs and survey when required and determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance.
- Liaise with the customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance, etc.
- Ensure the compliance of the vessels to the ISM Code within his area of responsibility and planned maintenance of the vessels is correctly applied
- Perform monthly review of logs processes and attend to vessel inspections
- Monitor technical status of vessel with relation to class certificates and survey
- Supervise contractors’ repair and maintenance of vessels
- Perform technical compliance audits and investigation on defects/failures on a regular scheduled basis to ensure conformance.
- Work closely with the HSE Department to ensure smooth and successful implementation of the QHSE system and policies for the Company.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to all ships working for the Company.


Minimum Requirements:

- A minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant experience is required.
- At least 3 to 5 years previous shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or Port Engineer looking after AHTS or OSV's, crude tankers, gas carrier and product/chemical tankers and have sailed as a Chief Engineer on the same type of vessels for at least 3 to 7 years.
- DP vessel experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISM/ISPS, OCIMF/OVID is a must
