Job summary

Responsible for the design, construction and repair of ships, boats and other seafaring vessels, the naval architect coordinates the team activities and carries ultimate responsibility for the project, ensuring that it is completed effectively, safely and economically.

General duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Design, and review designs of Naval and Structural Systems of the Company's products in compliance with Corporate Engineering Standards.
Design and construction of marine installations
Planning the whole build process of a vessel, managing everything from concept through to delivery of the final product
Acting as a consultant - providing clients with engineering solutions, technical and commercial guidance, support and project management for concept design studies, new vessel constructions, refits and conversions
Risk analysis of ships and marine structures
Identify and write specifications for the Naval and Structural Systems aspects applicable to the Company's products.
Perform design sizing calculations of Naval and Structural Systems components and use the appropriate software for analyses, calculations and design aids.
Perform inspections of oil tankers, LNG and LPG tankers, or other vessel type as required.

Suitable candidates will have:

University Degree (Bsc/MsC) in Naval/Structural and/or Marine Engineering
At least 5 years of experience in Naval Architecture and/or Structural Engineering
Fluent English level
Experienced in engineering calculations, hydrostatics & stability
Design/drafting on Autocad & 3D Cad software for production
Experience with aluminium & steel construction is essential
