Job Description

BMT Fleet Technology Limited, based in Ottawa, Ontario, is recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer.
We are an independent consultancy specializing in engineering, science and management services in the defence, energy and transports sectors.

The Role

The successful candidate will:
Conduct engineering studies and analysis
Conduct concept and preliminary design
Review engineering change proposals
Prepare options analysis for new and existing systems

The Individual
Successful candidates will have a combination of the following:
A university degree in engineering, or a provincial, state or federal (national) licence to practice as a professional engineer
10 - 15 years of related experience, with 5 of the last 10 years in the marine sector
Advanced experience in electrical, mechanical, marine systems engineering, combat system engineering or naval architecture
Advanced knowledge of submarines, preferably in a design environment
Experience in systems integration
Experience with in-service support systems
Demonstrated success in managing projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
The ability to plan and organize
Excellent interpersonal skills
