FLEET TECHNICAL MANAGER

We have an immediate opening for a Fleet Technical Manager to join our Vessel Management team in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The Fleet Technical Manager is responsible for the daily operational readiness of the vessels. The successful candidate will assist with policy development and implementation, provide hands-on direction to line personnel on technical issues and oversee fleet management. Further responsibilities will include overseeing maintenance and safety of the fleet, fleet compliance with respect to all required standards, analysis of vessel operations, recommendation and implementation of corrective action as required, dry docking and asset planning, budget development and cost control.

Qualifications

 Certified Marine Chief Engineer;
 Previous experience as a Shore Base Superintendent;
 Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities;
 Excellent oral and written communication skills;
 In-depth understanding of ship operations and awareness of marine industry issues;
 Computer literate.

This is a shore-based position but does require the flexibility to travel.
