Main functions

Key Responsibilities: The Senior Manager, Owned Fleet reports to the Senior Vice-President, Ship Owning, Arctic and Projects, and is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe working of the fleet of vessels under his/her direct supervision and leads the ship owning team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains responsibility for the day-to-day coordination between the Owner and the Ship Manager(s) for the fleet under his/her responsibility. Provides leadership to the ship owning department and manages a team of three people. Oversees detailed budgets for maintenance, repairs, dry docking, surveys, lube oils, stores, and spares Verifies the financial budgets and the unforeseen expenses received from the Ship Manager(s) Reviews, negotiates and modifies (as requested) all ship management contracts Reports key issues on ships under their responsibility to the Senior Vice-President, Ship Owning, Arctic and Projects, keeps him abreast of any potential problems and makes recommendations as to how to improve and address certain issues. Ensures approved recommendations are implemented. Maintains technical standards on board in collaboration with the Ship Manager(s) Follows up with respect to insurance claims. Assists in the planning and execution of major repairs/dry dockings for the vessels under his/her charge. Analyzes possible budget overshoots and provides justification to his/her superiors Ensures investigation and proper follow-up for all accidents and injuries that occurred on board ships under his/her fleet and takes preventative measures against future incidents Core Skills: Strong numerate and analytical skills Excellent leadership skills Superior verbal and written communication ability (including writing clear reports) Demonstrates creativity in his/her work and approach to challenges Effective decision-making ability Able to maintain and develop relationships Excellent motivating, mentoring, and coaching skills Enjoys working in a fast paced environment Location : 1000 de La Gauchetière Street West, Suite 3500 Montreal, Quebec H3B 4W5 CANADA Benefits Include: Annual discretionary bonus, based on performance Annual discretionary salary increase based on performance Medical/dental coverage Fitness subsidy program Accrued pension benefit Employee assistance program Annual salary: $145,000
