Job Description

Upstream Solutions Inc (USI) is currently seeking applications for the position of Marine Site Lead in connection with the development of the Hebron Project, one of Newfoundland and Labrador's premier Oil and Gas Projects.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Serve as primary interface with Contractor’s Marine Construction Superintendent
Responsible for overseeing on-vessel safety and incident response
Provide technical marine support to Installation Engineer

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily reporting and communication to Site Services Manager on offshore execution activities and progress.
Ensure Contractor work and safety management systems are followed
Participate in on-board Risk Assessments and JSA development
Responsible to oversee contractor adheres to approved project procedures/task plans and ensure MOC process is implemented
Implement field surveillance plans
Steward marine implementation of site safety and emergency response plans
Ensure implementation of SHE incentive program
Ensure implementation of mitigation measures identified in Risk Assessments/HAZOPs/HAZIDs
Provide input and endorsement of daily activity reports
Monitor vessel condition/readiness
Oversight of initial flotilla assembly
Oversight of Contractor Marine preventative maintenance program
Attend daily contractor meetings and follow-up as per Project Communication Plans
Oversight of high hazard activities; personnel transfer, marine materials loading/unloading, transit and mooring of transport/shuttle barges, etc.
Monitor daily flotilla mooring arrangements
Monitor sea-states and weather conditions
Monitor ferry conditions
Oversight of Sheer Leg Vessel activities
Oversight of Solid Ballast transport, mooring and unloading
Serve as Client Marine Representation in DWS Task Force Groups as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred 15 years construction experience (barges, tractor tugs, chain handling and moorings or oversight of those operations)
Preferred 10 years offshore Oil and Gas Industry experience (including management of change, risk assessment processes and procedure review)
Preferred 5 years offshore installation vessel supervisory experience
Previous experience working as a Client Representative working on an Oil and Gas Project
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and common E-mail systems

Local Benefit Requirements

Based on local regulations (Atlantic Accord) first consideration will be given to qualified Newfoundland and Labrador residents (those currently residing in province). Those outside the province, wishing to repatriate, will be considered a strong second in priority.
