A degree from a recognized university or a diploma from a recognized institution in naval architecture.
Experience
Significant* experience inspecting, monitoring and evaluating vessel construction, refit or life extension work to ensure compliance to contractual terms.
Significant* experience developing and implementing inspection plans and trials agendas for the construction, refit or life extension of vessels respective to hull structure.
Significant * and recent** experience in marine structural design, construction, repairs, operation, inspection, or quality assurance.
Experience consulting with and reporting to senior management regarding a vessel refit or construction.
*Significant experience is that which is normally obtained over a period of approximately 3 years
**Recent experience being within the last 5 years

Hilarious in a sad way. CG does not pay their own technical staff who manages the ships everyday, a TI salary. Somehow, they powers that be must figure the engineers guess how to fix the ships without looking at anything or inspecting them and the machinery.
