Job Description

SMIT Marine Canada seeks an experienced painter for its tug boat operations in Vancouver and New Westminster.
Type of Employment: Full time – 1 year contract
Salary: Hourly – competitive wage; 40 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: as soon as possible
Location: Vancouver / New Westminster

Job Outline:
• Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted
• Repair cracks and holes
• Mix paint to desired colour and texture
• Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
• Apply paint and other materials and finishes to vessel interior and exterior surfaces
• Clean-up after painting
• Knowledge and adherence to all safety protocols of SMIT Marine Canada

Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience is required
• Past supervisory experience an asset
• Knowledge of WHMIS and established safety procedures
• Medical fitness
• Must have steel toed boots
• Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle
