The Asset Integrity Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the management and supervision of the safe and efficient execution of the Fabric Maintenance and Inspection programs for the Terra Nova Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The Supervisor will work with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering personnel to plan and co-ordinate the deployment of offshore trades to ensure successful execution of planned activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure maintenance activities, including supervision of maintenance personnel, are carried out safely and efficiently
Interface with Production and Vessel groups, and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Advisors to ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely with lowest possible impact on oil production or vessel operations
Perform personnel performance reviews, competency assessments and training planning, and address conflict resolution or corrective counseling issues
Provide input for the daily and weekly planning meetings to ensure that work can be prioritized within the constraints imposed by personnel resources, supply chain delivery issues and engineering deliverables
Ensure adherence to Control of Work and Management of Change processes
Ensure regulatory compliance to meet Transport Canada and Lloyds Register requirements; assist with annual regulatory inspections
Issue work orders to qualified individuals to perform maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner in the field according to established procedures and regulations
Ensure Fabric Maintenance and Inspection resources are assigned to address work according to the priority of the scope
Provide field assessments and supervision for the Fabric Maintenance and Inspection work scopes to ensure all procedures are followed and any clashes or queries that arise are dealt with quickly and completely
Ensure the Asset Integrity offshore team is actively participating in Suncor safety initiatives and regulatory audits as outlined
Participate in and champion Suncor's Journey to Zero safety program and backfill for members of the offshore emergency command team as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Five to 10 years related experience in the oil/petrochemical industry; preference will be given to experience in an offshore environment covering Asset Integrity and Fabric Maintenance
National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Coatings Inspector certification is preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

Familiarity with American Petroleum Institute (API) piping and pressure vessel inspection; basic knowledge of Non-destructive Testing (NDT) methods
Considerable knowledge of marine/offshore/harsh environment coatings systems, application techniques and surface preparation methods
Thorough understanding of computerized maintenance management systems, and Control of Work Processes and Systems
Knowledge of regulatory and industry codes applicable to the maintenance and modifications disciplines, preventive and predictive maintenance applications, and condition monitoring techniques
Knowledge of equipment degradation mechanisms and applicable detection methods
Knowledge of coatings, passive fire protection and insulation materials and procedures
Proven planning experience and familiarity with quality processes
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork behaviors consistent with Suncor values
Effective written, oral and computer communication skills
Ability to recognize and resolve conflict

Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position works 12-hour days for 21 days on a rotational basis in an offshore environment on a floating facility; therefore, the successful candidate will be required to maintain mandatory training and certification for continued offshore work
Position is subject to periods of continuous walking, stair-climbing, standing, bending and stretching; periods of intense concentration are required to plan and execute critical work in the field
