Job Description

Preventative Maintenance Coordinator

Ocean Choice International L.P. (OCI) is one of Atlantic Canada’s most diversified seafood companies, producing and marketing a full range of shellfish, groundfish and pelagics species. OCI is currently accepting applications for the position of Preventative Maintenance Coordinator based in St John’s.

The Preventative Maintenance Coordinator (PMC) will be primarily responsible for setting up and implementing a new preventative maintenance software package and program across six company vessels initially. Following successful implementation it will be installed at our shore based factories as well. This position is vital to the proper operation of the preventative maintenance operations for our offshore and onshore based facilities and will be a key initiative in ensuring proper parts ordering, stocking and scheduling of maintenance to ensure the operational reliability of OCI facilities. Details of the position and qualifications required follows:

• The preferred PMP software package is MxSuite but experience in using any preventative maintenance software program would be considered. Training in the MxSuite program will be provided.
• Graduation from a Marine Systems Design Program or Mechanical Engineering Technologist Program with exposure to the operation of a preventative maintenance program is preferred. However candidates with a combination of other training and complementary experience are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of Marine Shipboard Equipment would be an asset
• Skilled in the operation of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is necessary.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Based in St John’s but travel to various locations throughout Newfoundland would be required.
• Daily interaction with Captains, Chief Engineers and maintenance supervisors and personnel would be required to implement and support the ongoing preventative maintenance program initiative.
• Coordination with the Vessel Safety Coordinator, Crewing Coordinator, Purchasing Manager and Vessel Managers for implementation of those modules of the MxSuite Software Program.
• As a key member of the PMP program who is responsible for the company wide PMP you would be expected to monitor and measure the status of implementation and report back OCI managers during regular fleet meetings.
