Main functions

Senior Marine Technician

Aerotek is currently looking for a Sr. Service Technician for a permanent opportunity for a company in the marine industry. This company works with bilge water treatment processes, fuel viscosity and measuring systems, and oil mist detectors.Job Duties:- Visiting ships to repair, assemble and install bilge pumps, water treatment systems, and other auxiliary systems- Understanding ship hierarchy and chain of command- Communicate with maintenance chiefs and ships captains to coordinate maintenance work. - Working in the repair shop repairing and tuning up previously used equipment for resale.- Travel 20-40% of working time, both in and out of Canada Requirements: - Min 2-3 years of marine experience doing maintenance and repairs- Reading technical plans- Ex: Oil bilge systems, pumps, hydraulics, electrical components, viscometers, oil mist detectors
